Do you know your value?

Do you know your value?

Hi beautiful one

Considering the question, you may say “How dare you try to put a number on me I’m priceless.”  That would be a great come back. There are so many of us that don’t see the value in ourselves and this could be for a number of reasons.

Firstly, what does seeing our value mean?

Seeing our value means that we don’t find it hard to love ourselves without self-criticism. It also means that we don’t have a negative inner voice telling us that we are no good leading us to find ways to make excuses.

As aforementioned why would we lack in self-worth and not have the comeback “I’m priceless”?

  1. Our childhood may have been filled with neglect and abuse.

If this is the case, we may find it hard to feel secure going through life, we may have difficulty in trusting others when it comes to them being genuinely interested in us, putting a strain on relationships. This may lead us to developing similar relationships to the toxic ones that we had whilst growing up.

  1. Seeking validation from others.

This could be due to unstable relationships that were built whilst we were young, leading to the need of reassurance from others in everything that we do. This can lead to us invalidating our worth because we place the value of ourselves in other people’s hands.

There are many more ways in which we can devalue our worth but let’s turn it around and look at 5 ways in which we can truly value our lives and see our actual worth.

1. When someone tells you something amazing about yourself believe them. This is because it is more than likely true, accept the compliment with a smile and wear it.

2.  Write a list of all your beautiful qualities. For example: I am beautiful When we are able to see our qualities this is a good sign that we see our value.

3. Don’t blame yourself for what others did to you, it was not your fault. When others mistreat us there is almost certainly an underlying trauma and suffering that they may have suffered and that sadly spills over in the way that they treat and have treated others. Always remember the expression.

    "Hurt people, hurt people"

    4. You have every right to be here because without you there would be a space missing for all of those that love and care about you.

    5. Concentrate on the things that you are in control of, all of the things out of your control have nothing to do with you.

The value that you place upon yourself will govern your outlook on life. Everything that you are and want is in your hands. We will only see our value when we release ourselves from negative thinking and the grasp of past interactions with unconstructive people.

You are truly valuable, priceless, loved and appreciated.
